The warm breezes of summer mean one thing in New York City, it's murder season

The New York Times had an expose yesterday on the fact that when the summer breezes start to blow, when people start showing up at the Shake Shack in short pants, when people start wiling away their days at Coney Island, the murder rate really gets off its lazy butt and kicks in.

Some things you'd probably guess, men are more likely to be murderers and murderees. Women are most often killed by someone they know. But do you know where the murder rate is highest? Do you know the bloodiest block in Brooklyn?

It's a great morning read, it'll really help you start your day off right.
