Ho-Ho-Hoboken police warn residents and out-of-towners on GPS unit thefts

After a spate of car break-ins (and we just broke our own record for hyphens in a story) where GPS units and other electronic items were stolen Hoboken's finest are warning the public to simply take those things with you, tape them to your person, put them in a purse or manbag but do not leave them in your vehicles.

Fuho PD's Det. Sgt. Sam Williams had a handy tip for owners of GPS devices: wipe off the mark left by the suction cup that mounts the device to the windshield.

"Thieves will break in if they see this mark thinking there is a GPS inside the vehicle".

Got that? There'll be a quiz on Friday.
