We don't normally cover stories that happen outside the area here -- But we're going to make an exception here

Irony, it's always the irony. You remember McGruff the Crime Dog (Not Fred McGriff), the cartoon and later foam costumed dog who reminded kids in a very early "If you see something say something" program dealing with drugs and crime to, "Help take a bite out of crime."

OK America, sit down. McGruff has been a baaaaad dog. No, worse than pooping on the DEA Commissioner's floor. McGruff helped take a bite out a few dozen pot brownies it could be inferred:

Feb. 8 (UPI) -- An actor who visited schools dressed up as the famous McGruff the Crime Dog was sentenced to 16 years in prison after police seized 1,000 marijuana plants, 27 weapons and 9,000 rounds of ammunition from his house. John Morales was arrested in 2011 after Galveston, Texas, police pulled him over for speeding and found plans for two indoor pot-growing operations sitting on his front passenger seat.

When they got to his home, they found marijuana plants and weapons.

What a wonderful metaphor for the failed war on drugs. We'll let you have your say on this in comments. Bring your 'A' game...
