Shame about the Sixth Borough Market today

Good to see so many of Johnny's PAD favorites even if it was in the rain today. And then more rain. And more rain. By the time Johnny was done eating great Polish food and chatting up some of the artists today his dire wolf took three hours to dry out.

Hopefully the next one will be drier.

World Cup Today -- Day 3

A full slate of four games today soccerheads and a real firecracker this evening with Ingerland taking on La Azzurri (Italy). Johnny gets to watch the Columbia game in a few minutes with Columbian art curator and style maven Diana Cordoba, and he is looking forward to some real South American passion in his teevee room. Today's schedule:

Columbia vs Greece Noon
Uruguay vs Costa Rica at 3pm
Italy vs England at 6pm
Japan and Ivory Coast at 9pm

Italy will be without their famed style king goalie GiGi Buffon so somebody is gonna have to sing that Italian national anthem in his place. No word on whether Uruguay's Luis "Bitey" Suarez will play vs Los Ticos or be resting his bad knee.

Art show opening tonight we wanted to tell you about

Artists Maurizio Zuluaga and Martin Abrahams open their dual show "Deflection" at Gallery 58, 58 Coles St., in Jersey City on Saturday, May 17 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Mea Culpa, Maurizio Zuluaga is a friend of Johnny's, but his artwork is spectacular. It may well not be on display for this show tonight but he has done some work with 3-D art in the past that just blows one away. This is gonna be an excellent show for both artists. As it says on the website:

"DEFLECTION" /diˈflekSHən/ is an art exhibit conveying the unique visual and intellectual angles of these two contemporary neo-pop artists in a body of work that is beautiful and color strong, exciting and thought provocateur, sensory innovative and most of all, it's a profound insight into the human's exquisite ability to deflect and bend the waves to adapt and evolve in our times".
