This song, 'Bombs Away' was on the album Zenyatta Mondatta which was what Johnny was going to name his first child until The Police stole the idea, (well, technically Miles Copeland did) so instead of going with his backup plan of Regatta De Blanc he just decided no Zenyatta Mondatta, no kids. FACT!

What a gem of a song 'Invisible Sun' is. Making a reggae type of beat sound so menacing and foreboding is truly dazzling. Then when you let Sting fiddle with the lyrics good things are known to happen. The Music Series reminds you to try and not be a statistic on a government chart.

Such a great song to reminisce to. Did any of you guys out there have a girl like this in the song 'Every Little Thing She Does is Magic'? One you simply can't ever find the right words around or ever really figure out even a good way to tell a lady she's all you think about. Johnny has.

Her name was Wendy and she was a dream. She was the object of every guy's lust when she hit the campus of Northern Michigan University in the fall of 1981. Johnny and Wendy became fast BFF's. But alas,

It was even more painful to be that close to her and not be able to tell her. (Big sigh)

A two-fer from the Police actually. On the Old Grey Whistle Test from 1978 we have a hilarious sunglasses moment with Sting. Rumor has it he irritated his eyes something fierce while applying plenty of hairspray to his coif. Is that true? Dunno but you'd think if he had more time he'd have come up with some better looking shades.

Did you know that neither Sting nor Andy Summers or Stewart Copeland had anything to do with the crazily named albums The Police came out with in the late 70's and early 80's? Its true. They had no input over the names Regatta De Blanc, Zenyatta Mondatta or Outlandos D'Amour. It was Miles Copeland, Stewart's brother, and band manager who had creative control of the album names. Do you recognize the name Henry Padovani? He was the fourth member in the 'original' lineup but left before they hit it big or released Outlandos D'Amour. The Police also performed under the names Strontium 90 and The Elevators in those early early days in the mid 70's.

Here is the current lineup we all know and love with 'Walking on the Moon', a song Johnny got his best friend's cool-o daughter hooked on when she was 5.
