Johnny covers the arts

Johnny is a big fan of the arts and a big supporter when he can be and owns pieces by four different Jersey City artists. He got a look at the new gallery at Modera Lofts on Morgan at Washington and the art spaces for displays and artists is tip top. Gorgeous. Here's a gallery section showing the work of a friend of Johnny's, Maurizio Zuluaga.

Do yourself a favor and bring a friend downtown and take a look at some of the awesome work being down by artists here in Jersey City.

Now Johnny knows this wasn't there yesterday when he walked by on his way to the river. Then, this morning this incredible mashup of Alfred E. Newman/Elvis Costello (that's Johnny's guess anyway) appears in the Powerhouse Arts District. Good placement, Johnny know this one took some planning...

Framed

An all too clever art type managed to hang a picture frame off of some fishing line to the lines overhead in the Powerhouse Arts District and in this wind today it'll frame many things as it swings, in this case the Trump Tower.

You may not always associate Newark with great culture, but you certainly can this month

Here is a link to a very nice piece in the Jersey journal by Peggy McGlone on the Newark Museum celebrating it's 100th anniversary this month. The article calls the museum one of New Jersey's best kept secrets. In reading the article it really does have some amazing art and culture there. Best part it's only a PATH ride a a little light rail away.
