RIP Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys

Adam Yauch, MCA of the Beastie Boys sadly lost his fight to cancer today at age 47. Yauch first announced the cancer in having to cancel their appearance at the All Points West concert at Liberty State Park in late July of 2009.

The Beastie Boys are legends proving the three white Jewish kids from Brooklyn could not only succeed but become industry giants in an African-American dominated sound. With their albums like License to Ill they broke down color barriers in the hip-hop world. It is now easy to see the route paved by the Beasties for rappers such as Eminem.
