The Jersey City Desk is thrilled to present the 2011 'Running of the Corgis"

We hereby accept 100% of the praise, love and 100% of all that Google juice for the Jersey City Desk all while accepting none of the legal, social or moral responsibilities should the corgi's run amok. Let us refer back to last year's rules, regulations and carnage:

Yes Westminster Kennel Club fans, the big show is at Madison Square Garden Monday and Tuesday with the dogs already inside. One of New York's most hallowed traditions, the "Running of the Corgis", will be held today between 2-4 pm. Runners will run down Broadway from 42nd St. to 35th St. chased by Corgi's (Remember the Pembroke Welsh Corgis have the sharp horns while the Cardigan Welsh Corgis do not). Last year four runners sustained ankle and calf gorings though none requiring hospitalization. New York no doubt hopes to never repeat the 1999 run when 2 runners were killed after they got tired and sat down on a curb and were overrun and died of hundreds of small yet deadly horn puncture wounds.

Kind of gives you a great big lump in your throat doesn't it? But knowing the Jersey City Desk is sponsoring really makes Johnny feel part of something bigger, as he stands on folding metal chair so as to not get gored.

Here's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi before growing his horns (These ones are OK to pet).

Westminster Kennel Club show kicks off at MSG tonight

The only dogs in MSG are not the Knicks anymore, no the barking kind invade Madison Square Garden tonight and tomorrow for the Westminster Kennel Club show. If Johnny was a gambling man, he'd put the smart money on a god awful looking poodle, who win a lot. He has no idea what the fascination is with poodles when obviously, the best looking pooch time and time again is the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. No Corgi is featured on the front page of the Westminster website, but there is an ugly-assed poodle.

So, as you sit at home tonight or head over to MSG, give some love to those happening Corgis, the smartest and cutest dogs around.
