If you're a pet lover like Johnny it may have crossed your mind about the fact if people need protective eye covering to prevent damage wouldn't dogs and cats that would be outside need some kind of protection? Johnny did the research and it said that dogs and cats very very rarely if ever look right at the sun so it would be unlikely they would today.
Get those glasses on people and enjoy an astronomical treat within the hour.

Well would you look at that; gay marriage is legal in NJ and the sun came up this morning
Huh. Well, there you go. Pigs didn't start marrying goats (though that car insurance pig is beyond creepy when he's picking up women), nobody applied to marry their Weimaraner, and in general life went on in the shire as it has this past age. The New Jersey Supreme Court made the exact right call and even Chris Christie got out of it what he wanted; a way out of this issue that lets him run against a liberal court (but one he helped shape) when he runs for president.
Mayor Fulop, let's make Jersey City THE destination for gay marriages in this state. Lots of happy people getting together with expendable income? Tell Asbury Park sorry, we've got a view.

Third annual Pet Owner's Day scheduled for Jersey City
Jersey City will hold it's third annual Pet Owner's Day beginning April 22nd and running through June 16th. The clinics, starting on April 22 and running through June 16, are a result of a $10,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Mayor Jerremiah Healy is solidly behind the effort and said "We felt it was important during these difficult economic times to find private funding for animal health and hope that all pet owners keep their animals up to date on all necessary shots." Right on Mayor, we agree.
As for the actual vaccinations given, the Jersey Journal tells us they will be:
*Dogs will be administered the DA2PP vaccination for distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza and parvovirus.
*Cats will be administered the FVRCP vaccination for feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia.
No word on fish or pet rhinos.
Ah yes, you know the dates, how about the wheres...
Sunday, April 22nd @ City Hall, 280 Grove Street
Sunday, April 29th @ Bethune Center Parking Lot, 140 MLK Drive
Saturday, May 5th @ Pershing Field (Behind Skating Rink), 201 Central Avenue

Free rabies shots.....for your pets
OK, if grandpa INSISTS on coming along....
Jersey City will be giving away free rabies shots for your pets in May. The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mary Bethune Center Parking Lot, 140 Martin Luther King Drive;
Sunday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pershing Field, behind the ice-skating rink, 201 Central Avenue;
and Sunday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lincoln Park, in the parking lot adjacent to the track;
There is more to the particulars of the program so make sure to read the story for all the necessaries.
“Your pets are part of your family and the best way to protect your own health, and the health of your family and friends, is to avoid exposure to rabies and keep your pets up-to-date on their rabies shots." said Mayor Jerramiah Healy. We couldn't agree more.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, The dead rising from the grave, dogs and cats living together...
The uh, weather may get a bit nutty around the Tri-State area tomorrow as foretold by this very site's Accu-Weather link last night. We took a snapshot of it and highly encourage you to check it out. We've never seen a "star-studded sky" during the day so we have no damned idea what we're in for. Maybe it's time to bust out your bucket list...
