Jersey City's famed weather prognosticator Jebediah the Wombat saw his shadow

Jebediah the Wombat, far smarter and cooler cousin to Punxsutawney Phil or Staten Island Chuck, and who lives among the stacks and stacks of bricks at Warren and Bay St., confirmed he did see his shadow which traditionally means six more weeks of winter.

Jebediah, as always, was coy in his prediction. "Look, last year I listened to Lonnie and it really went sideways. So this year let's just say it's cold today, and here's hoping this shit pulls out faster than six weeks."

Jebediah the Jersey City wombat, he's just so much cooler than Punxsutawney Phil or Staten Island Chuck, of whom Jebediah had this to say: "I did Chuck's wife."

Jebediah, the Jersey City weather telling Wombat sez...

Johnny took the pup over the Jebediah's home, still at the corner of Bay St. and Warren with those piles of bricks that have been there for the last 12 years and asked him all about winter and seeing his shadow and what not. Johnny asked Jeb whether we still had six more weeks of winter.

"Winter, when is it going to start? I have no good idea, you're the people, you figure it out."

So, there you go, right from the wombat's mouth.

Jersey City's own weather prognosticator, Jebediah the Wombat gives his prediction!

Johnny ventured over to where Jebediah the Jersey City Wombat lives (under one of those hundreds of cinder blocks near the corner of Bay Street and Warren near the Powerhouse Arts Building) and as Jebediah came out from under his cinder block home Johnny asked him since he DID see his shadow how much longer winter would last.

"Winter, said Jebediah, when the hell is winter going to START let alone end?" At which point he wandered back under the cinder blocks he calls home for another year.

That's just good reporting.

Jersey City's own weather prognosticator, Jebediah the Wombat, did NOT see his shadow

So this late-arriving winter can hurry the hell up and leave.

Johnny ventured over to where Jebediah the Jersey City Wombat lives (under one of those hundreds of bricks near the corner of Bay Street and Warren near the Powerhouse Arts Building) and as Jebediah came out from under his brick home Johnny asked him since he DID NOT see his shadow how much longer winter would last.

"You're the people, you figure it out." he said and then trudged back under the bricks.

Jebediah the Jersey City weather predicting wombat says six more weeks of winter

Jersey City's answer to Punxsutawney Phil, Jebediah the Wombat, came out of his den near the Powerhouse Building, walked over the Warehouse Cafe for a coffee, looked up, saw his shadow and told the assembled media, "You all saw it too, six more weeks of winter, see you losers next year..."

There you have it, not only do we have a Super Bowl here today in Hudson County but also the best weather forecasting rat in the business.

Jersey City's own weather prognosticator, Jebediah the Wombat says EARLY Spring!

That's right, Johnny ventured over to where Jebediah the Jersey City Wombat lives (under one of those hundreds of cinder blocks near the corner of Bay Street and Warren near the Powerhouse Arts Building) and as Jebediah came out from under his cinder block home, started getting hit in the head by the ice storm, gave the wombat symbol for 'screw this' and went back underground.

Jebediah did NOT see his shadow which means an early spring, something Johnny thinks we're all ready for.
