After two weeks the Giants can't get out of their own way. The offense is a mess and the defense got beat last week by a backup QB who hadn't played since 2010. They are 0-2 and if they get to 0-3 Johnny predicted Tom Coughlin's demise. Giants fans know exactly how last year started and with a loss to Houston today they are halfway there. Still, hope remains.
Eli has looked lost in the new Green Bay-type offense. He's a good QB and given time he'll pick up what needs doing. Time isn't something he has however. The quality of those running the rest of the cheese-based offense needs help, help that isn't coming in the form of Odell Beckham Jr. this week either. If Manning were going to be chased around by J.J. Watt and Jadaveon Clowney there would be no hope the way the Giants offensive line has played. Clowney however is out. So is top flight RB Arian Foster. The Giants ARE at home for what that's worth on this steamy September Sunday. At some point this team has to decide if they are going to make a stand or chase the Washington team to the bottom of the NFC East. Sure it'd be better if Jacksonville or Tennessee were at the New Meadowlands today but Houston it is. Sorry friends.
Fearless Forecast:
Houston 28
NJ Giants 17
