Johnny's been a space and science geek since forever. Some of his best years were the late 90's and into the early 2000's working at the AOSS/Space Physics Department. Truly remarkable place to be for all that was going on at the time. Fast forward to today when LIGO antennas in both Louisiana and Washington heard a tiny tiny whisper of a blip of gravitational waves on September 14, 2015, waves made when two black holes two billion years ago collided. Would you care to hear what those black holes colliding sounds like today on Earth? Click here.
There is so much more at the New York Times story here. What an amazing day!
