The noose draws tighter around Leona Beldini's neck and by association, Mayor Healy

You will never convince Johnny that Kwame Healy did not know of his Deputy Mayor's actions especially since his reelection cash was being run by Beldini.

In court today a tape of Beldini, sting runner Solomon Dwek and Edward Cheatam and Jack Shaw at the Brownstone Diner (and goddammit if you're gonna be hustling illegal money do it somewhere other than Johnny's favorite breakfast place in Jersey City) slyly answering Dwek's questions about helping him navigate city roadblocks and offering to help him get what he wants. Then comes the kicker:

“What we’re trying to do is put money into different funds so when we need it we can funnel it back to the mayor, which everyone does."

No, everyone does not funnel illegal cash into the mayor's coffer Ms. Beldini. Maybe YOU and the Mayor do it that way, but the rest of us don't.

And don't let Johnny catch you in the Brownstone again, you or the Mayor, your Brownstone rights have been revoked.

The noose is beginning to tighten around our erstwhile mayor here in Jersey City

OK scandal and corruption fans, Mayor Jerramiah Healy has taken a fall back position now that Steady Eddie Cheatam admitted in open court during his sentencing to funneling dirty money into Healy's campaign. Healy who before has said he's done nothing wrong and that he didn't wanna discuss the situation must have realized the more damning admission by Cheatam was rather damaging.

According to the Jersey Journal Hizzoner is saying:
"any donations to my campaign account by those individuals charged in this federal investigation have been isolated for donation to charity."

Ya see Mayor, it doesn't matter if that money is now designated for charity, the FACT it it was funneled into YOUR campaign and certainly a big strong man like yourself knows YOU are responsible for how that money gets into your account. YOU must take ownership of your campaign finances. We find this an apt quote:

It won't be long now Jersey City but keep up the watch and we commend those taking the message directly to the Mayor. If you haven't yet seen this video of citizens protesting at the Jersey City Hall using theater to do so, well pull up a chair:

Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, you've just been indicted, congratuations

The first public official to be indicted in July's graft arrests is Jersey City's own Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini. She is being charged with one count of a felony for extortion. Edward Cheatam, a city housing authority commissioner was indicted a close second. Congratulations to both of you. This is just the kind of publicity a city can't buy. This will really help improve civic pride and really encourage investment perhaps even more than Mayor Healy's arrests after drinking.

Ralph J. Marra, the acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey, said this about Beldini's indictment: "In exchange (for financial gain), she promised a developer official favors not available to the honest business person." Mayor Healy should know all the details about this as according to the FBI he was at two of the meetings Beldini was at.

On a side note, Mayor Healy has been having the toughest of luck with his own picks for Deputy Mayor. 3 of the 4 he has chosen recently have been arrested. Besides Leona Beldini, Ador L. Equipado was arrested and resigned in shame after trying to charge over $100 for the free service of being married at city hall and then trying to sell the newlyweds phone service, like ya do. Kabili Tayari was arrested last summer for not paying his rental car bill but got those charges dismissed. Well done mayor, seriously, a great judge of character you are.

We the people need to tear down the current power structure of city hall and start over. Steve Fulop, you shall lead us.

The shame of Jersey City

Tomorrow the family, police, citizens, and city officials will say farewell to Detective Marc DiNardo. DiNardo showed all that was good and right about Jersey City. He gave his life without a thought to his own safety to protect the rest of us. He was a hero in life and a lesson in how a public servant should act in death.

Today, sadly the city got a black eye because certain public servants have decided the best way to serve the public is to turn the city machinations of government into their own personal ATM machine. That's disgusting. It's beyond the pale. To enrich yourself and line your own pockets with money instead of serving the people whom you just got done asking for their precious votes is obscene. You people are the exact opposite of someone like Detective DiNardo. He stood for law and justice while those of you arrested today stand for graft and corruption.

Let's be clear, we'd hate to not be spot on as to whom we mean here: Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, Jersey City Council President Mariano Vega, Health Officer Joseph Castagna, deputy director of the Department of Health and Human Services Maher A. Khalil, Deputy Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt, former Jersey City City Council Lori Serrano, former Jersey City Council candidate Guy Catrillo, Edward Cheatam a Jersey City Housing Authority commissioner, former Jersey City City Council candidate LaVern Webb-Washington, Perennial mayoral candidate Lou Manzo, Michael J. Manzo, and Ron Manzo, and James P. King.

Shame on you all.

Mr. Manzo, what would have happened if you'd won the mayoral election in May? Did you ever stop to think about how that would have affected the rest of us? Of course you didn't. Like comic Dennis Miller once said nobody turns their lives over to God on prom night. You would have been doing the same thing most likely only this time as mayor. It also looks like Thanksgiving dinner will give you all a lot to talk about around the family table. Deputy Mayor Beldini and Council President Vega your resignations should be on Mayor Healy's desk no later than tomorrow morning. If not this site will ride you until the ends of the earth. Johnny makes you this promise, when people look up your names online this post will be where they find you first. Same thing for you Mr. Cheatam, time to go. All the rest of the former city council members arrested today please don't ever bother running again, and we hope the law comes down on you like a ton of bricks.

The Jersey City Desk would love to see the State of New Jersey adopt some kind of mandatory minimum for public official graft. We have these laws nationwide for drugs and guns and it's high time the criminals without guns get what the strong armed robbers on the street corners get. Shall we start at a 5 year minimum for taking as much as one red cent that's not yours? Unfortunately the citizens will have to initiate this as there are many more crooked pols who didn't get arrested today and to expect them to institute such a law is farce. They'd water it down or make it toothless. No New Jersey, if we want to crack down on people like those listed above we'll have to do it ourselves.

Some of you listed above may have an inkling about attending Detective DiNardo's funeral tomorrow. Do us a favor and stay home. You'd be disrespecting him in a way none of us can bear. Again, he stood for what is good and right about Jersey City while those listed above stand for nothing but themselves. Stay away from the funeral, don't disrespect him, not for a second. You gave up the moral right to attend such events when you pocketed dirty cash for the first time.
