So disgraced former assemblyman Lou Manzo says Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan lacks integrity

OK, now that you have wiped the coffee off of your computer screen and keyboard after hearing Manzo claim ANYBODY lacks integrity, let's expound. Lou Manzo, who right now is facing several felony counts from the graft arrests last summer chimed in because he thinks for whatever reason Kagan's elevation to the Supreme Court in some small way impacts his own case. Yeah, we should do more of that as a nation, stop adding Supreme Court Justices or Federal Jurists because people like Lou Manzo see an advantage in their felony charged lifestyle.

Johnny used to be Manzo's neighbor in that they lived in the same building when Johnny moved here. After news of Manzo's alleged criminal enterprises where he turned potential office into an ATM it was all Johnny could do to not go upstairs and leave a message about his graft on Manzo's nose. Now, after hearing this utter crap, he wishes he would have. Johnny is just too damned nice sometimes.

Former mayoral candidate many times over, and former state assemblyman, Lou Manzo and his older brother Ron Manzo will be arraigned in Newark today on counts of conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right, three counts of attempted extortion, and two counts of travel in interstate commerce to promote and facilitate bribery.

Momma Manzo would be so proud.

The two faces eons in the pokey if convicted, we mean decades. It'd be well deserved but they do get their day in court first.

The shame of Jersey City

Tomorrow the family, police, citizens, and city officials will say farewell to Detective Marc DiNardo. DiNardo showed all that was good and right about Jersey City. He gave his life without a thought to his own safety to protect the rest of us. He was a hero in life and a lesson in how a public servant should act in death.

Today, sadly the city got a black eye because certain public servants have decided the best way to serve the public is to turn the city machinations of government into their own personal ATM machine. That's disgusting. It's beyond the pale. To enrich yourself and line your own pockets with money instead of serving the people whom you just got done asking for their precious votes is obscene. You people are the exact opposite of someone like Detective DiNardo. He stood for law and justice while those of you arrested today stand for graft and corruption.

Let's be clear, we'd hate to not be spot on as to whom we mean here: Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, Jersey City Council President Mariano Vega, Health Officer Joseph Castagna, deputy director of the Department of Health and Human Services Maher A. Khalil, Deputy Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt, former Jersey City City Council Lori Serrano, former Jersey City Council candidate Guy Catrillo, Edward Cheatam a Jersey City Housing Authority commissioner, former Jersey City City Council candidate LaVern Webb-Washington, Perennial mayoral candidate Lou Manzo, Michael J. Manzo, and Ron Manzo, and James P. King.

Shame on you all.

Mr. Manzo, what would have happened if you'd won the mayoral election in May? Did you ever stop to think about how that would have affected the rest of us? Of course you didn't. Like comic Dennis Miller once said nobody turns their lives over to God on prom night. You would have been doing the same thing most likely only this time as mayor. It also looks like Thanksgiving dinner will give you all a lot to talk about around the family table. Deputy Mayor Beldini and Council President Vega your resignations should be on Mayor Healy's desk no later than tomorrow morning. If not this site will ride you until the ends of the earth. Johnny makes you this promise, when people look up your names online this post will be where they find you first. Same thing for you Mr. Cheatam, time to go. All the rest of the former city council members arrested today please don't ever bother running again, and we hope the law comes down on you like a ton of bricks.

The Jersey City Desk would love to see the State of New Jersey adopt some kind of mandatory minimum for public official graft. We have these laws nationwide for drugs and guns and it's high time the criminals without guns get what the strong armed robbers on the street corners get. Shall we start at a 5 year minimum for taking as much as one red cent that's not yours? Unfortunately the citizens will have to initiate this as there are many more crooked pols who didn't get arrested today and to expect them to institute such a law is farce. They'd water it down or make it toothless. No New Jersey, if we want to crack down on people like those listed above we'll have to do it ourselves.

Some of you listed above may have an inkling about attending Detective DiNardo's funeral tomorrow. Do us a favor and stay home. You'd be disrespecting him in a way none of us can bear. Again, he stood for what is good and right about Jersey City while those listed above stand for nothing but themselves. Stay away from the funeral, don't disrespect him, not for a second. You gave up the moral right to attend such events when you pocketed dirty cash for the first time.

Sounds like Mayor Healy might be a little chicken

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy is ducking the first mayoral debate scheduled for April 1 at the Loew's Theater. Healy had some crap-assed excuse about this not being a fair and unbiased debate which, where Johnny comes from is another word for chicken. The other mayoral candidates will be there, they see no problem answering debate questions by the radical and biased TV host Pat O'Melia, Political Insider Agustin Torres, Jersey Journal columnist Earl Morgan and writer Ricardo Kaulessar of the Jersey City Reporter. Yeah, smart reporters with REAL questions. We can see why Healy would be dodging such an event. They might ask him about his record or something. They might ask him about the rampant crime going on. You know, questions that Healy doesn't want to answer in a televised forum in downtown Jersey City.

The mayoral candidates who WILL be attending are Lou Manzo, Assemblyman L. Harvey Smith, Dan Levin, and Phil Webb.

The Jersey City Desk should hope the organizers would put a big empty chair with a sash that says MAYOR on in that can cluck answers when asked.

This just in, Bret Schundler will NOT be running for Mayor of Jersey City

Claiming the nation's economic downturn has hurt his portfolio and would not allow him to campaign full time, former mayor Bret Schundler has decided not to run. Schundler told NJ.com:

"This will make it impossible for me to run," Schundler wrote in his e-mail. "I had planned to campaign full-time this Spring and to pay my family's mortgage and my children's tuition bills out of investment savings. Instead, I will need to work full-time at an income-earning job to pay those mortgages and tuition bills."

This leaves ONLY This leaves Mayor Jerramiah Healy, former Assemblyman Louis Manzo, ex-City Council President L. Harvey Smith, and Downtown activist Daniel Levin as candidates.

Maybe Johnny should run, he has a vision. He has lots of visions, mostly on Friday and Saturday nights after he takes his medicine.

We had no idea this was coming, Lou Manzo, running for Mayor of Jersey City

Lou Manzo will make his FIFTH run for Mayor of Jersey City in 2009. Manzo says he's running on a platform of "keeping streets safer, improve the city's image and negotiate better tax deals with developers"

"One thing I pledge is that I will never be an embarrassment to the people of this city" Manzo also said. Look we know you know the issues and take a little offense that you claim the drop in crime is only because "people are afraid to leave their homes" but we're gonna need a little more meat and potatoes than "I won't embarrass you". Unless Mayor Jerramiah Healy suddenly becomes Detroit's Kwame Kilpatrick, embarrassment isn't going to win an election for you.
