So sorry for the late update
Johnny serves on a couple boards and one needed his immediate attention tonight and so he never got around to doing a proper review of the Garbage and Blondie show last night. Without going too into the details as he's dog tired, it was a fun fun and really good show. The bands brought out the best in each other, it seems they both lifted their game playing with such esteemed colleagues. Debbie Harry seemed completely at home, and why wouldn't she, as they did a nice mix of the classics and the new. Debbie commanded the stage and you could tell was having fun doing it. Garbage sounds so big, and the music seems like it'll just jump right through you was sharp, tight and on point. No jitters, just good sonic rock and roll. You know how they say some movies might not win an Oscar but they are a great fun popcorn movie? This was a show like that, fun, awesome sounding, funny and great music done by great music visionaries who still pay close attention to the little things on show night for the fans.

A really big show tonight at The Beacon Theatre
Blondie and Garbage, as mentioned in last week's Music Series lands tonight and Johnny can't wait. He's always loved the strong women in music and tonight boy howdy we get two. The bands are fabulous but there's something about Shirley and Debbie that makes tonight a true event. Full update on the show tonight.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GARBAGE!
Joy! Rapture! Tuesday night at The Beacon Theater it's these fine folks here, Garbage playing with/opening for Blondie and yes, Johnny's got seats (You'll pay for the whole seat but you'll only need the edge) to this once in a lifetime event. Two great bands, one iconic in Johnny's mind. Shirley Manson has said many times how much she's looking forward to this leg of the tour they are on.
If they play this song Tuesday and use this very reverb Johnny's gonna swoon all over himself.
Last stop on the Music Series this week, Garbage with 'Special' begging the question, what's a Letterman?

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GARBAGE!
Who do we love? Garbage! Every few months Johnny can get on a real Garbage jag and right now we're in one of those windows SO, let's start off tonight with 'Special' performed for a teevee show in Europe in 1998. Everyone in the band truly shines on this song. It's all there, just put the headphones on and it's musical YAHTZEE!

Johnny has initiated the Super Happy Fun Day protocols!
On what will probably be the worst day of the year weather-wise Johnny and the Jersey City Desk staff are ready here to help you through it. We're gonna start it off with a very logical choice, Garbage and 'I'm Only Happy When It Rains'

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GARBAGE!
Yeah baby, what a smokin way to start off the music series tonight. There aren't many contemporary singers Johnny enjoys quite like Shirley Manson. First off she's a redhead and Johnny has a severe case of redhead weakness. Next she's a dynamic performer. If the stage was on fire behind her, you'd still be watching Shirley Manson. Of course Butch Vig and the boys can do some serious rocking on their own and when the two are mixed, the magic happens.
The sign behind the bands says Montreaux Jazz Festival so yes this counts as a helping of fresh jazz. Here's Garbage with 'When I Grow Up'

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with GARBAGE!
By way of Madison Wisconsin, with a hot and powerful Edinburgh Scotland singer, it's Garbage to finish off the music series tonight. A couple tidbits about the band, Did you know Butch Vig produced the iconic Nirvana Nevermind album? You do now. Shirley Manson once broke into the Edinburgh Zoo, we're not sure why but next time we see her we'll ask. Here they are performing their breakout hit from 1996 with 'Only Happy When it Rains'.
