BREAKING NEWS -- Jersey City to ask JCMC to handle ambulance contract

Our friend Terrence T. McDonald has a scoop at the Jersey Journal which he has confirmed with city spokesperson Jennifer Morrill that the City of Jersey City will ask the Jersey City Medical Center to handle the much debated city ambulance contract. Last year you may recall Mayor Fulop said he wanted Care Point to handle the city's contract but after a lot of public outcry a new panel was commissioned and the vote was 6-0 in favor of JCMC.

Terrence T. has much more on this including a surprise commission member and how the JCMC only sent a proposal for the entire city when asked to draw one up for half the city.

Johnny really doesn't know what to make of this guy. Was he trolling Council President Rolando Lavarro with his snappy reply:

Lavarro: "Do you drive?"
Burg "I drive people crazy."

The audience then started filing out, no doubt breaking the two drink minimum rule at Jersey City Council meetings. What is he? Exasperating. Smarmy. Witty. We think any of these might describe him. Lavarro had to shut him up as people filed out. Burg came back and apologized then began saying something about Richard Nixon, Johnny didn't catch enough of it to tell what Nixon did this time.

It takes all kinds.

Johnny had to leave early (he gets up at 4am, cut him some slack) to grab dinner and saw Council did vote on the ambulance kerfuffle and Jersey City Medical Center can keep providing ambulance service for the city on a month by month basis.

One minute you're cleaning bird poop off your car, the next you're taking a brick to the melon

Dateline: Jersey City. A man walked into the East District cop shop bleeding from his forehead and nose saying he'd been assaulted by a former co-worker by a brick Monday. The victim whose name wasn't released said he was cleaning bird shat off of his car when he was approached by former co-worker Jason Scala. You know the routine, words were exchanged and then allegedly Scala went all brick on the victim. Scala was charged with aggravated assault and weapons possession. The victim was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center and released.

What kind of world are we living in when a man can't clean pigeon leavings off of his whip in peace?

Shooting at Monticello and Gardner in Jersey City last night

Oh how tough people are when they have guns. A man was shot in the stomach last night around 7 pm after engaging in an on-street argument with the shooter. After the argument was supposedly finished, the shooter hit the victim in the back of his head and when he turned around, shot him. The 37 year old victim was treated and released from the Jersey City Medical Center.

The po-po say they are looking for a gunman aged 24-27 with a black hoodie and blue jeans. Good luck with that using that description gang.

How brave these candyasses are when they have a gun eh? If he'd had no gun chances are he'd have walked away with his tail between his legs.
