The Friday Night Music Series will be quite late tonight because music

Seeing as how during the fall a Saturday Night Music Series is out because of our surprisingly and wildly popular college football Scoreboard Show, and because Johnny is going to see War on Drugs in Central Park tonight, our Friday Night Music Series will be up later than usual.

Also tonight please note in your programs that tonight the part of Johnny will be played by Tom Hanks, not Bill Murray. Thank you for your attention.

Central Park just opened four previously off-limits acres

It's true, a section of Central Park, almost four acres has been off-limits to everyone and has recently started allowing people back in, as long as it's during limited times and limited amounts of people:

Did you know that there are four acres of Central Park that have been closed off since the 1930s? While the Central Park Conservancy has given the park a remarkable new life since the 1980s, they haven't quite gotten to everything, but now they've announced a "new" (to you) section is ready for humans: the Hallett Nature Sanctuary (née Promontory) will open this summer.

Aside from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, the Sanctuary—located by the Pond—is the only permanently fenced-off section of the park. “The story is, [then Parks Commissioner] Robert Moses closed it off because he wanted it to turn into a bird sanctuary,” said the CPC's Douglas Blonsky.

From yesterday's field trip to Central Park to the Delacorte Theater for the entire Jersey City Desk staff so Johnny could culture them up a bit. 'As You Like It' was the play and Johnny made sure that the "All the world's a stage" portion was not lost on their fragile eggshell minds.

An outbreak of hippies sleeping in trees has afflicted Central Park

While hippies don't carry Dutch Elm disease (or do they?) hippies have been infecting elm trees in Central Park at night. Two twin brothers have been climbing 50 feet high with hammocks to tie off in the branches and sleeping in the canopy since September. Cory and Dana Foht who hail from Florida have been sleeping like ninjas, listening in on conversations below them, hidden from park police who comb the park each night looking for sleepers, and thus far safe from giant killer raccoons that hunt Central Park at night.

The New York Times will take it from here but if you see hippies sleeping in trees in Jersey City at night, you call the authorities or pretty soon your neighborhood will smell like patchouli and used hacky sacks will start plugging up the sewers.
