Johnny is calling his first timeout today on playing Christmas music to cover those wacky Giants and their chase for a high draft pick. The story heated up overnight with UCLA QB Josh Rosen saying if the Browns would take him at #1 overall he might just stay in school.
The Giants are in Arizona today for a 4:25pm game...
OK, enough about the game, it's time for the wildly popular 'Draft Watch" portion of our show.
Draft Watch®
Cleveland 0-14
NY Giants 2-12
Indianapolis 3-12
Houston 4-10
San Francisco 4-10
The Browns can clinch the #1 overall pick with a loss in Chicago today or a Giants win in the desert. The Bears FYI are percentage points behind SF for the 5th spot in the draft. Know what, it won't ultimately matter but the Browns are winning today. They are.
The Giants, and this is where the real news today comes in, just need one more loss to clinch #2. That news? UCLA QB (sounding like an entitled little piece of shit like John Elway, Eric Lindros and Eli Manning before him) Josh Rosen says he wants to play for the Giants but not the Browns. His royal highness is considering another year of Pac-12 excitement rather than go to Cleveland. Fuck him.
Indianapolis will play a huge role next week vs Houston but already lost on Thursday.
Houston by losing today vs Pittsburgh and next week vs Indy would give the Browns at least the #1 and #3 overall picks. Lose Houston lose!
San Francisco is on a 3 game winning streak but still not off this list.
Fearless Forecast(s)
Cleveland 20
Da Bears 19.9
Arizona Angry Birds 23
New Jersey Giants 14

How about a wonderful story that truly embodies the season
Johnny's not going to tell you too much, he'd very much like for you to read the story but know a gentleman named David Kohle of Pequannock won the grand prize in NJ.com's Great Grocery Giveaway, a $15,000 gift card redeemable at a supermarket of his choice. Mr. Kohle decided that a lot more good could be done by donating a large portion of that money that keeping it for his own groceries. A wonderful story about a very kind man on Christmas Eve 2014.
Safe travels to all our Jersey City Desk readers
We know today is a big 'get-out-of-town-day' for Christmas travelers and if you are one of them we here wish you a safe, and hassle free trip.

How is 1.6 mph of wind considered a "gust"?
Yes, things only Johnny notices for $300 Alex...
OK, the weather is going to get progressively worse as we head to Christmas Eve. The rain will pick up and could be heavy on the 24th, the winds are most assuredly going to pick up and by tomorrow night flooding starts to become a concern. But for now, well, Johnny was doing some checking and saw this marvelous statistic from Wunderground that 1.6 mph is now measured as a gust of wind. You probably exhale faster than 1.6 mph.
Hold onto your hats kids!

Twas Christmas Eve in Jersey City...
...all the trees are up. The stockings and wreaths are hung with care. All the good boys and girls await their bounty in the morning. The only thing missing is a little snow to set the mood off perfectly. Christmas Eve has always been one of Johnny's favorite days of the year. All that anticipation. Almost everyone is in an extra good mood it seems. Traditions come to the fore. Enjoy the day and the evening and all that comes with it!
