Warning: The milk and bread are gone, again, the milk and bread are gone

This light dusting of snow has caused a run on all sorts of perishables in case one inch of snow turns into two. We've just gotten word from reporter Zoltron over at the ShopRite off Manhattan Ave. that plenty of shovels remain however. So no milk or bread but plenty of shovels to go around. He also told us in a text that Home Depot has plenty of shovels but they are out of (if they ever had any) milk or bread.

If you're going to steal somebody's snow shovel, try not to hit the house of a cop

Isai Santiago was a crooked g on a robbing spree. He was trying to force his way into a locked house as the owner of the house, off duty Jersey City police officer pulled up. Santiago was unable to jimmy the door and so, in a fit of pique (or necessity) decided to walk off with the officer's snow shovel from her porch. The officer followed Santiago a short distance to Hutton Street and Central Avenue where she yelled out her car window "Hey, that's my shovel".

The officer had a small child in her car which kept her from getting out and confronting Santiago but luckily Jersey City's finest were able to make contact with Santiago and make contact with him.
