Election day for the US Senate race dawns

Get out there and choose New Jersey's next US Senator, either Democratic candidate Cory Booker or Tea Party favorite Steve Lonegan. Given all we'e seen from the temper tantrum the Tea Party is throwing in Washington D.C., this choice should be an easy one Garden Staters. Do you want representative government or a guy who says no to everything including funding social security checks to seniors and medical help for vets?

Exactly.

Dear small-minded turds; It DOES NOT MATTER if Cory Booker is gay

It didn't matter last month, it won't matter in two years and it doesn't matter today. He is running for United States Senate, not Pope. If you're not going to vote for someone simply because they are gay or you think they're gay it shows YOU as a small-minded voter.

If you still insist on thinking there is nothing wrong with disliking someone just because they are gay you are in luck. Just so you don't have to go stand in line with a bunch of liberal/gay Booker supporters on election day, Booker supporters are to vote Wednesday October 16th while you Lonegan supporters vote Thursday October 17th.

There you go, you can safely stay as far away from gays on October 16th as you please.

Both Democratic and Conservative Parties will be choosing their candidates today in senate primaries. Yes the weather is horrid today and we're almost all under a flash flood watch, but do your part and vote.

The candidates on the Democratic ticket are Newark Mayor Cory Booker, state Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, Rep. Rush Holt, and Rep. Frank Pallone. The Conservative Party candidates are Somerset County doctor Alieta Eck and conservative activist Steve Lonegan.

And those out of town, across the miles of Hudson County have asked for word on just what Mr. Fulop has been up to. Here's our raven back to you.

Up might just be a key word as Fulop has announced a great block party before his swearing in on July 1st. He also reached even greater heights, rappelling down JC skyscrapers all for charity. How Superman is that? Swims the Hudson River for charity, rappels, has the first open inauguration since the 1980's. No wonder Cory Booker needs to leave the area. He's being usurped.

Yes friends these are the headlines. All the attention is being paid to these wondrous events and nobody seems to care how Fulop is doing official business. We're fine with Dan Levin looking at city departmental operations, that's a home run but this undercurrent of just who else is consulting does raise questions. Tapping stop and frisk fan Larry Mone along with disgraced former NAACP President William Braker to the public-safety committee raises questions.  Mr. Fulop said he's against stop and frisk so why Mone? Remember, Barack Obama a young pragmatist like Fulop, said a lot of things different about the NSA and PRISM too when he was a candidate. Was state senator Sandra Cunningham's addition to the team a way of mending fences as she wouldn't endorse Fulop in the general election?

Last night was the night Cory Booker lost Newark

You can make this claim or that claim over his perfectly legally if not tone-deaf appointment of ally Shanique Davis Speight over the will of the residents of Newark and others on the board. But by doing this Booker had to know pretty much what was coming, an angry mob. Well Cory, it happened. Like we said you can argue the merits of this person over that person but in waiting for such a dramatic time (Cory's not often seen at city council meetings in Newark) and showing up in person to do the deed was going to set a lot of people off. Sorry about the ad at the beginning of this video of the "Ruckus in Newark" but you can skip it after 5 seconds. You can move the clip up to about the 2:30 mark for the fireworks and see Rahaman Muhammad, president of SEIU's 617 local act like a complete and total ass in "allegedly" shoving Speight to the ground while her son watches. Muhammad was arrested for these actions and charged with assault, resisting arrest and inciting a riot.

Cory, Cory, Cory, we like you, we do, but this was slimy and there's no excuse for that. You're going to wind up a mayor without a city if this blows up. Forget challenging Chris Christie for governor now. The odds were gonna be long even before Christie's 16 point jump in the polls after Superstorm Sandy but now? Pffffft, forget it.

We realize the storm is in the early stages...

But as of 9:25 DST Newark Mayor Cory Booker has not saved anyone's life....yet.

So it would appear a lot of these cash cow red light ticket cameras were miscalibrated

Most red light cameras, nothing more than cash cows for local governments more concerned with making money on residents than protecting their safety, have been deemed by the state to have been miscalibrated as to the length of the yellow lights. 63 of the state's 85 red light city ATM's will have to be checked. ALL of them in Newark. And don't you love THIS:

In the meantime, the cameras will remain on. If the devices are found to be in compliance, violators would still be fined. If the traffic systems are not in compliance, DOT spokesman Joe Dee said, "we will shut down that camera."

So if they are right you STILL must pay. If they were indeed miscalibrated and you were wrongly given a ticket, you STILL have to pay. Way to go DOT. Way to just steal money.

So New Jersey citizens, are you sick of being robbed yet? Again, and we know we harp on this. Rise up and get rid of these things. You DO have the power. And where oh where is the Tea Party on this?

Oh, and Jersey City, the Healy Administration brought them to our town, they want MORE in our town and if you're simply sick of this governmental overreach we're having an election next year for Mayor. Make sure you remember who set up these "deals" with the camera companies in the voting booth.

You're a good man Cory Booker

Let's put our political angles aside, let's forget about the Newark vs The Devils row going on, let's take a moment to thank a civil servant for a very heroic act.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker neighbor's house caught fire last night, Booker arrived home, saw the house burning, noticed nobody was outside yet and ran in to rescue his neighbor. Booker was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and second degree burns on a hand. Booker's female neighbor was listed in stable condition at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with burns to her back and neck.

The Star-Ledger reports on Booker's thoughts inside the burning house:

"I suddenly had the realization that I can’t find this woman." Booker said. "I look behind me and see the flames and I think "I’m not going to get out of here. Suddenly I was at peace with the fact that I was going to jump out the window."

Then he heard her cries in a back bedroom.

"I just grabbed her and whipped her out of the bed," Booker said. The two made their way downstairs, where they both collapsed, Booker said.

You're a good may Cory Booker, we're proud of your bravery and hope both you and your neighbor heal up quickly.
