And those out of town, across the miles of Hudson County have asked for word on just what Mr. Fulop has been up to. Here's our raven back to you.

Up might just be a key word as Fulop has announced a great block party before his swearing in on July 1st. He also reached even greater heights, rappelling down JC skyscrapers all for charity. How Superman is that? Swims the Hudson River for charity, rappels, has the first open inauguration since the 1980's. No wonder Cory Booker needs to leave the area. He's being usurped.

Yes friends these are the headlines. All the attention is being paid to these wondrous events and nobody seems to care how Fulop is doing official business. We're fine with Dan Levin looking at city departmental operations, that's a home run but this undercurrent of just who else is consulting does raise questions. Tapping stop and frisk fan Larry Mone along with disgraced former NAACP President William Braker to the public-safety committee raises questions.  Mr. Fulop said he's against stop and frisk so why Mone? Remember, Barack Obama a young pragmatist like Fulop, said a lot of things different about the NSA and PRISM too when he was a candidate. Was state senator Sandra Cunningham's addition to the team a way of mending fences as she wouldn't endorse Fulop in the general election?

While many concentrate on bread and circuses surrounding events July 1st, The Jersey City Desk awaits July 2nd more.

With all eyes on the DNC Convention in Charlotte, the Jersey City mayor's race heats up

While the Democratic Party holds their convention down in Charlotte North Carolina, Mayor Healy who is in Charlotte has launched his re-election campaign website for the 2013 mayors race. He has launched mayorhealy.com to kick off his campaign. When asked why he'd launch it from so far away a Healy campaign ally said:

“So when he runs into people at the hotel, they won’t say, ‘Are you running,’ they’ll say, ‘How can we help?’ ”

Healy endorsers include Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Freeholder Jeffrey Dublin and Assemblymen Sean Connors and Jason O’Donnell.

Color hat-in-the-ring City Councilman Steve Fulop less than impressed with Healy's endorsements:

“The only endorsement that counts to me is the residents of Jersey City,” Fulop said. “These career politicians that endorsed Healy today have 15 jobs between them, so of course they want the status quo, which Healy represents.”

So, Healy vs Fulop (When Mr. Fulop gets his mayoral website up and running we'll also give that a one-time link) and the gloves are officially off. But is this only going to be a two-person race? Many are speculating that state Senator Sandra Cunningham may join the race to hold the job her late husband held from 2001-2004.

Ah fall, the politics get bigger and nastier.

Crime in Jersey City is not funny, however this quote was

A local citizens group is up in arms over the blatant and increasing crime in their area. We understand and hope all the police and civic leaders who say they'll address their concerns aren't simply paying lip service. Lafayette area residents have a real problem and it's gotten so bad, to keep hoods, thugs, and idiots from loitering on her porch a local resident has taken to pouring syrup on said porch. Clever, but when it gets to that point, local officials who said they'd do something, namely state Sen. Sandra B. Cunningham, Ward F Councilwoman Viola Richardson, Freeholder Jeffrey Dublin and Jersey City Police Chief Tom Comey had better do something.

Oh, yes, now to the quote that struck us as funny:

"I can't have people shooting each other and then the bodies laying in our parking lot," said Rosalyn Browne, who owns the funeral home outside of which the Jan. 3 shooting took place.
