New Jersey City University headed to the NCAA Division III big dance
The New Jersey City University Gothic Knights, a cool 19-9 on the season defeated Montclair State University 72-67 and clinched the New Jersey Athletic Conference crown. Thursday NJCU will find out who they'll play in the opening round of the Divison III tournament.

It's Oscar Sunday
And good readers we'd love to know some of YOUR favorite movies that may or may not have won the Best Picture Academy Award, some of your favorite actors and actresses and maybe you'd like to share some of your most hated Oscar snubs. Johnny will start that category off by wondering how in the fresh hell Kramer vs. Kramer beat Apocalypse Now for best picture. Another of Johnny's hacked off Oscar moments was Joaquin Phoenix somehow NOT winning the Best Supporting Actor statue for his otherworldly performance of Emperor Commodus in Gladiator. Johnny most likely WOULD have been tuning in tonight if the Academy hadn't lost their minds and not nominated Mila Kunis for Black Swan. Stop giving out gift bags to rich people and start nominating those most worthy AND give the viewers at home an 'eye candy bag' with Ms. Kunis.

A Bergen County woman is actually suing WABC-TV because they accidentally read the wrong lottery numbers
Talk about trying to win the legal lottery in place of the real one.
A woman known as Rakel Daniele (How cute that rhymes) has decided that when WABC accidentally called the numbers (this'll get a laugh too, who uses these numbers other than Rakel Daniele) 1,2,3,4,5 with a Powerball number of -- wait for it -- 6 she thought she'd won. WABC-TV accidentally posted 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with the Mega Ball of 12. She said when she saw the same numbers posted the next day and found out they were wrong she was "damaged".
Yes, we definitely think she was damaged alright. When you read some of the filings in the case you might think she's damaged too.
Get ready for these damaging claims brought to you by Daniele's lawyer Evan Baker:
*She was "severely damaged" by relying on the "false and incorrect" lottery results.
*WABC compounded her damge-ed-ness by "negligently, carelessly, recklessly and/or intentionally" rebroadcasting the erroneous numbers the next day.
*The incorrect re-broadcast of that news edition with the incorrect numbers is "beyond all possible bounds of decency, and were atrocious, and utterly intolerable in a civilized community".
The litigant is demanding $75,000.
Wanna know what is intolerable in a civilized society? People like Rakel Daniele plugging up the court system and using up valuable resources to try and get rich over NOTHING. Literally NOTHING. Late night open thread
St. Peter's fell behind early tonight at the Yanitelli Center and never could quite climb back all the way and lost to Iona. The Peacocks, The Pride of Jersey City®, fall to 11-6 in MAAC play and 17-12 overall. St. Peter's finishes Sunday afternoon at Rider. It would sure seem at this point the Peacocks will have a #4 seed in the MAAC tourney in March.

One of the great instrumental bands of the last many many moons though they ceased to be a band long ago. Yes, they did the Kids in the Hall theme, also known by it's real name 'Having an Average Weekend'. One of the ten best theme songs in all of television. Johnny got to see Shadowy Men long ago in Detroit and they were fantastic. What a fun band they were to see. Tip top.
