Head on over to Word Bookstore at 3pm today for a rich Jersey City history lesson

Author David Goodwin will be discussing his new book, "Left Bank of the Hudson: Jersey City and the Artists of 111 1st Street" at Word Bookstore 123 Newark Ave just steps from the Grove St. PATH. Goodwin spoke with the Jersey Journal's Terrence T. McDonald and his research and the history of stops and starts in the Powerhouse Arts District and the amazing history of the 'original art house' at 111 First St. Johnny's long heard rumors about the old warehouse there, and how one Lloyd Goldman did everything in his power to bring it down. But what do we know, these are just the rumors told over beers and coffee in the PAD. Perhaps Goodwin will delve into some of the seedier history of the old P.. Lorillard Tobacco Co. warehouse.

Goodwin will also be back at Word for another round of Q & A on his book Oct. 15 at 2pm as part of the Jersey City Art & Studio Tour.
