1 Adam-12, 1 Adam-12, we have a helicopter down in the Hudson River

Five people were onboard what is being called a private helicopter (earlier reports said it was a FOX-5 news chopper) that landed in the Hudson River today near the Upper West Side (Think 79th St.). All five were rescued and the investigation continues. It's another Sully miracle!

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer takes to Twitter to yell at helicopters

Maybe you follow the Mayor of Hoboken, the Honorable Dawn Zimmer, on Twitter. Then you know about the headline. If you're not into the Twitter that's fine but here is what she said:

Dawn Zimmer ‏@dawnzimmernj 3h
Outrageous number of helicopters flying over NJ & NOT NYC. If NY wants  tourist helicopters then keep them on your side!

She used an exclamation point so it's yelling alright. She does make a point, a point we folk on the sunset side of the Hudson River can discuss. Do the sight-seeing helicopters stay on the Jersey side while coming nowhere near NYC? Don't a lot of these helicopters depart and land from the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan though? Living near there would suck. You'd get 'Nam flashbacks even if you didn't go.

If Johnny were running things in Hoboken, which he is not, he'd tell residents to put really offensive 'greetings' to the helicoptourists on rooftops. Really offensive.

Mr. Bloomberg will now cease weekend helicopter flights out of the East 34th St. heliport

As Johnny discussed in the story below, Mayor Bloomberg's office is saying he will now not be using the East 34th St. heliport when it is closed on the weekends. We're not gonna drone on and on about this, we had our say, but you simply must read the Gothamist's take on the very sentence Johnny had questioned as to whether is was actual English or jibberish (And if you've spent any time at all reading this website you know Johnny knows jibberish). Get their take on the quote "I'm just trying like everyone else," you'll be glad you did.
