Go screw yourself. We've all heard enough whining from Mike Bloomberg on the Community Safety Act to last us a lifetime. Word is the Mayor might even be dangling good paying jobs to get councilmen  to switch their votes. But you, all you need is a .15¢ ball point pen to sound like an utter and complete whiner. The pens, which read “Community Safety Act — Presuming cops guilty since 2013,” will be handed out around town to somehow help teach citizens that police need zero oversight. What an effective and completely childish act Ed. A pen? A pen whining about city policy? Just what is your problem with oversight Ed? Oh, that's right, presumption of guilt. That's SO FUNNY you'd snivel about assumed guilt because Eddie baby, here's what YOU said about presuming people guilty in May 2013:

“If you’re not a terrorist, if you’re not a threat, prove it,” he says.

Ed, you shit for brains, what's the difference? One is police and the other is everyone else? More and more your police are the problem. Stop and frisks go down and so does your crime rate. Facts are facts bubby. Do you realize what an utter crybaby you sound like?

Take your pens, go get your money back on them, and grow up you duplicitous tool and go read the constitution all the way through which you obviously missed in school.

Bloomberg's office equates sparklers with weapons of terror

The New York state legislature passed a bill that would allow sparklers, those devious weapons that take so many lives and couldn't possibly be turned into anything other than a hot sparkling wire, between from June 1st and July 5th, as well as between December 26th and January 2nd.

Bloomie loses his mind seeing this as a veiled attempt to allow terrorists into NYC, even though the law exempts NYC, sparklers = terror.

“While this bill excludes New York City, legalizing these devices everywhere else in the state would, as a practical matter, have the same effect in the five boroughs,” Joseph Garba, the mayor’s state legislative director, said in a memo obtained by the NY Post. “A recent attempt to harm innocent lives provides a frightening example of how legally purchased... fireworks can cause dramatic harm and even kill.”

Yes the Times Square bomber who failed miserably bought some M-88 firecrackers in Pennsylvania to try and turn those into a bomb of some kind. So what does stopping sparklers have to do with fireworks that explode? Nothing of course but as you know Michael Bloomberg sees terror behind every 20 oz. Big Gulp. They called sparklers "devices" which makes you wonder just how overboard you have to go before the people just tune you out completely.

Bloomie and his sidekick Ray Ray had a meltdown yesterday like children being told to put their toys away

First things first, nearly 70% of New Yorkers support city council installing an Inspector General to oversee the department. With the way Mayor Bloomberg has called the NYPD his "personal army" and NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly has run amok on #OWS, his stop and frisk program and the horribly botched Muslim surveillance that seemed to start in New Jersey (still not part of New York) it is high time to add a layer of accountability between Bloomberg and Kelly and the citizenry.

Accountability? Bloomberg laughs at your stupid head. HE is the accountability:

"Yes there is. It's called the Mayor...The police commissioner in our city works for the mayor serves at the pleasure of the mayor..."

Next sentence:

"I can just tell you I'm not a professional in this.."

No shit.

See Kelly and Bloomberg are saying unless they can profile, unless they can run spying operations far and wide, unless they can basically go about their business as THEY please with zero oversight, we're all dead people:

Kelly really took things to unbelievable heights in his temper tantrum calling the bill:

'Full Employment for Plaintiffs Attorneys Act'…Take heart Al Qaeda wannabes." 

Bitter much Ray-Ray? This is the problem with people like Bloomberg and Kelly who are used to getting their own way and really aren't into answering for their actions. They think they're special. They think some oversight shield comes with their jobs. Wrong. Hell, when told that his canard of saying lawyers will make lots of coin for their clients if the Inspector General bill passes was wrong and the new bill allows for NO monetary relief, Bloomberg in typical Bloomberg style said:

"It doesn't matter..."

Yes, Mayor Mike, it does. And the city council WILL pass the IG law which if you really don't think allows you to do your job the way you see fit you can leave early. The third term was a mistake anyway.

Mayor Pithy decided forever and ever he'd never release emails pertaining to why on Earth Cathie Black would be chosen to become Schools Chancellor (She to obtain a special waiver from the state education commissioner because of her glaring lack of background to leads the schools). In the back and forth emails that former Gawker intern Sergio Hernandez finally gained access to it would seem the Bloomberg folks and Cathie Black quickly opened up their binders of women to help turn public opinion in Black's favor (She lasted 95 days). So who is in the Bloomberg/Black binders?

Bette Midler and Nora Ephron had more integrity than to involve themselves. Know who didn't? Oprah:

The Mayor of Manhattan gets roundly (and rightly) booed in the Rockaways St. Patrick's parade

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who long ago gave up even pretending he represents the parts of the city not named Manhattan was roundly booed at the Rockaways St. Patrick's parade yesterday. Bloomberg tried to mitigate the cascade of boos aimed directly at him by hiding in and among the sanitation workers who were front and center trying to help the locals. That's just cowardly. THOSE guys were heroes to these folks Mayor Mike. You get right out front of the parade and every St. Patrick's parade hereafter, you get out front with your police detail and see what the people really think of your third term.

Know what was even more embarrassing for his highness? Mayor wannabe Countess Chocula (Christine Quinn) dropping back way away from Mayor Michael Bloomberg after the boos started. Of course she said that was the plan all along said spokesvampire Eric Northman.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorses Jerramiah Healy

In a high profile if not expected endorsement, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has endorsed Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy in his re-election bid. Said Mayor Mike:

“Mayor Healy has been an excellent partner in the effort to eliminate the scourge of illegal guns and he has been a thoughtful leader on economic development and environmental issues that are so important to our region,” Bloomberg said. “America needs mayors like Jerramiah Healy and he has earned another four years to keep the progress going in Jersey City.”

Healy is a founding member on Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns lobbying organization.

So, it's a big bright firework that lights up the news cycle for a night or two but it remains to be seen if it can start tipping the scales in this race.

Just a stray thought. Come later this year the cross Hudson mayors could be Steve Fulop and Countess Chocula. It's been Healy n Bloomie forever.

Michael Bloomberg simply does not give a shit about people without a big income

How else could you explain that Mayor Mike would sign off on a plan to basically give developers land, land that now is used for playgrounds, community centers and parking lots for public housing, so they can build LUXURY condos. Yep, you heard right. The Daily News reports:

Internal documents obtained by the Daily News show the planned 4,330 apartments in eight developments are all in hot real estate neighborhoods, including the upper East and West Sides, the lower East Side and lower Manhattan. Developers will get a sweet deal: a 99-year lease with the lease payments to the authority frozen for the first 35 years.

Bloomberg is all for the luxury condos also having a million square foot parking lot and baseball field where the people in public housing hold "Family Day".

So, if you have a soul now you're pissed. It gets worse. Do you really think that the people in the luxury condos want to even look at the poors? Hell no:

"...and face away from the public housing."

We want their land but damned if we even want to look upon them. Maybe they could have entrances and exits away from us that are enforced under Bloomberg's, "Police for the Rich" doctrine.

All Bloomie needs is a next-mayor to carry this horrid plan through. He's happy to get the ball rolling but he'll need a willing patsy.

NYC might just be out $450 million if teachers and and city can't make a deal

What is it about the greater NY and NJ areas simply pissing education money away? Governor Christie  and his crew blew $400 million a couple years back (and of course blamed the guy in the White House and his bureaucrats facts be damned) and now it appears that NYC and the teachers union across the river could be losing $450 million over a lacking teacher evaluation plan.

The AP says no help is coming from Albany with Governor Cuomo saying the date is set:

The two sides blamed each other while Gov. Andrew Cuomo insisted a midnight Thursday deadline for a plan — required from each of the state's nearly 700 school districts — was firm.

But there is still hope for a deal and the $450 million right?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the union "unilaterally walked away" from negotiations early Thursday, while the United Federation of Teachers President Michael Mulgrew blamed Bloomberg for the impasse and asserted that "the intransigence of the Bloomberg administration on key issues has made it impossible to reach agreement on a new teacher evaluation system."

So there you go, negotiations. The only thing left to do is bring in Gary Bettman and lock out the kids for the next six months.

NYC is doing the "Gas Ration Rumba" as of 6am tomorrow

Mayor Bloomberg leading the band on this classic; as of 6am tomorrow if your car's license plate ends in an odd number you'll never guess when you can gas up. Go ahead, just try. Odd numbered days is correct. Double down on this one; If your plate ends in an even number which days might you be allowed to buy gas? See, you're getting good at this. OK, for the big money and no whammies; If your plate ends in a letter you fill up on...? 30 seconds.......20 seconds......hint: even or odd.....10 seconds....Your answer? Shame on Mayor Bloomberg for insisting the NY Marathon go on as planned -- UPDATED

It starts in Staten Island. Devastated Staten Island, where near as we can tell Mayor Bloomberg hasn't even been to yet. They are still pulling bodies from homes near the start of the race and you want to run it? Disgraceful, or as the New York Post said "An abuse of power." People on SI have nothing. Nothing, there are thousands of new homeless people and many dead yet to be discovered. So let's kick people out of hotels who have nothing for runners. Let's move police around to protect the runners and not work corners in Staten Island. Bloomie was just on television saying NO police or emergency responders would be taken off the job. Horseshit. If you have EXTRA cops or EMS people working the marathon you should send those PUBLIC EMPLOYEES to work on SI, not the race. So YES, they WILL be taken away from the rescue effort.

The New York Road Runners, which organizes the marathon, said the event will bring $340 million to the city. The club also announced on Thursday that it will donate at least $1 million, or $26.20 for each of the more than 40,000 runners expected to participate, to aid New Yorkers affected by Sandy. 
The Rudin Family, one of the founding members of the marathon, said it would donate $1.1 million and the ING Foundation said it would give $500,000. 

WHY is your large donation CONTINGENT on whether or not your precious road race is run? If you want to help, truly help devastated Americans JUST GIVE THE MONEY WITHOUT STRINGS!! How gauche to put strings on it.

Running this race (which could easily be rescheduled til a week or two from now -- TOO BAD for those already here from all over the globe. We're dealing with some serious shit right now and simply can't cater to your desire to run 26.2 miles through our devastation. Try to 2013 NYC Marathon, we'll all be better by then.

There are those in Staten Island threatening to disrupt the race and for once, we really understand why they would and in some cases SHOULD. Take notice Mayor, when people who have nothing left to lose take up a cause, YOU have a problem.

UPDATE -- As you have no doubt heard the marathon has been canceled on Sunday. It was really only the decent call. Mayor Bloomberg mentioned it was not drawing resources away from the cleanup. The news helicopters showing dozens of generators being used to run a VIP runner tent in Central Park to feed the runners a high carb pasta dinner and at other various points along the route told a different story. As did police setting up barricades. As did a late call for retired NYPD officers work the marathon. It was pointed out one of those generators can power 400 homes. You do the math. We know people trained hard. Johnny could never hope to run a marathon on his best day. These are all special athletes. This one time, we have more important things to task ourselves with. This isn't like 9/11 at all where things were much more confined. And Mr. Bloomberg, stop mentioning this being about business and sponsors and million dollar deals. Again, this one time all that can wait. Of course there is an economy to get running but people need a few days to know they are the sole focus. The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade will be the finest in the world and show off everyone the NYC can-do-spirit. Everyone will have power and people will have warm places to sleep not exposed to nature. New Year's Eve will be even bigger. And Donald Trump's hair will be wintering in Florida.

Ray Kelly's FAIL over Muslim spying is now complete

By now you are aware that New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly ordered agents to engage in borderline legal (if not outright illegal) spying on the Muslim community after 9/11 in New York, New Jersey, Guam, France, Antarctica, Nome Alaska and Fargo North Dakota (ok some of those were simply tossed in for effect). Kelly said this spying through his "Demographics Unit" (Now known as Zone Assessment Unit) was vital. It was necessary. It was the right thing to do despite the fact New Jersey has it's own police and investigators AND the fact many Muslims were already cooperating with the powers that be (The newest member of the NEW JERSEY SUPREME COURT COMES TO MIND!!) that is until Ray's investigators got found out. Yep, not only were they spying, they were sloppy and lazy about how they went about it. A janitor found them out when they left all kind of maps and snapshots of buildings around town and NYPD radios, (you know like ACTUAL terrorists might have in their possession) at a surveillance site here in the Garden State.

So after they were found out the Muslim communities in New Jersey, namely Newark and down Rutgers and Princeton way, weren't too keen on helping someone who had been spying on them. Now here's where Ray Ray's fail becomes complete, he incensed a group we as a community need to work with all for nothing. You read that right. Kelly's spying initiative garnered ZERO leads, and ZERO actionable tips. Know who else thinks Kelly's plan was a loser? The FBI:

Documents obtained by the AP show the unit conducted operations outside its jurisdiction, including in New Jersey. The FBI there said those operations damaged its partnerships with Muslims and jeopardized national security.

Nice job Ray! You and your Zone Assessment Unit were complete failures on this. Why not invite Mayor Mike to the fail party, he was supporting you all through thick and thin. He made wild comments about the powers of your Zone Assessment Unit, it'd be a shame if he couldn't drive over to the fail party, park his car so they can stick an A/C unit in the window, while he lives large with a group that jeopardized national security.

Just resign Ray Kelly, before your reputation is further tarnished.

Mr. Bloomberg will now cease weekend helicopter flights out of the East 34th St. heliport

As Johnny discussed in the story below, Mayor Bloomberg's office is saying he will now not be using the East 34th St. heliport when it is closed on the weekends. We're not gonna drone on and on about this, we had our say, but you simply must read the Gothamist's take on the very sentence Johnny had questioned as to whether is was actual English or jibberish (And if you've spent any time at all reading this website you know Johnny knows jibberish). Get their take on the quote "I'm just trying like everyone else," you'll be glad you did.

Here's a wonderful case and point of how NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg views residents, as peasants. Cerf Bloomberg will pass laws saying you can't smoke in Central Park for the good of all. Cerf Bloombeg thinks his thousands of invasive stop and frisks are good for you for the good of all. But what about statutes that are in place that affect Michael Bloomberg? Well, you can probably guess what happens here, he doesn't give a SH!T about anyone but himself.

Mayor Mike is a pilot, he flies his helicopter around quite a bit it seems and docks it at the 34th St. heliport. He flies it in at all hours, weeknight weekend you name it. Sometime just carrying his girlfriend and her dogs around. But you see, here's the rub, the heliport has been closed weeknights and weekends by the NY City Council for a decade because of the noise and acrid fumes from the helicopters that was bothering residents. You know, taxpayers, locals, voters. A resident nearby the 34th St. helipad has been filming Mayor Mike (No doubt he'll be getting a visit from Ray Ray's Storm Troopers soon enough for having the audacity of filming wrongdoing by the 1%) coming in several times a day when the helipad is CLOSED. Again, Bloomberg being a pilot you'd think he'd KNOW and or RESPECT the rule.

Nope, not Mike, he's "Just trying like everyone else." Whaaaaaaa? You were confronted on the news and this is part of your reply? Are you educated? What does that mean?

Whenever Johnny used to tell his mother he was trying she's tell him, "Yes, verrrry trying." Mayor, you're verrrrrry trying.

Federal Judge: NYC's 'Stop and Frisk' lawsuit is now a class action suit

Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin's opinion stated that the evidence presented showed that the central tenets that make up the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy led to many illegal stops:

It is rather audacious of the NYPD to argue that if it were possible to protect "the right of people to be secure in their persons" from unlawful searches and seizures by the NYPD, then the legislature would already have done so and judicial intervention would therefore be futile. Indeed, it is precisely when the political branches violate the individual rights of minorities that "more searching judicial enquiry" is appropriate. 


So the class action suit moves forward, a stinging rebuke to police commissioner Ray Kelly and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg who seemed, well, testy after being asked about it while hanging out with Mr. Met:

As of today, we're 135 days into the year, I think we've had 135 murders. If it were to stay at this rate, we'd have 50% less than when we came into office—I can't conceive of it staying at this rate though. We continue to do everything we can that's legal to keep this city safe so you can walk in any neighborhood in this city, and not have to worry about getting shot or a bullet coming through your door...

Uh, Mayor, you have zero proof these guns you took off the streets saved ANY lives. Trying to equate a gun off the street with keeping a murder from happening isn't reality, it's a Tom Cruise movie. Your specious reasoning really drags the topic into the gutter.

Actually Mayor Bloomberg, your reasoning doesn't hold up at all when it comes to the murder rate:

In 2002, when Mr. Kelly last took office, officers stopped 97,296 New Yorkers and the city reported 587 homicides. Last year, those numbers were 685,724 and 532.

What huh? Mayor would you like to go over your ridiculous statements on 'Stop and Frisk' again? The judge allowed class action status because you and your BFF Ray Kelly are trampling people's constitutional rights in holding these bogus stop and frisks. You're really only stopping people of color with a full 87% of these stops made on against minorities.

Ya know who gets caught the most at the stop and frisks with weapons? White people, and yet 87% are persons of color stops. Huh? Mayor, do you have anything to say on this matter? Of course you don't but let's dig deeper into the numbers on stop and frisk:

*Nine out of 10 of those stopped in 2011 were neither arrested nor given summonses.

*Nearly 150,000 stops have been unconstitutional (Which brought on this class action suit).

*NYPD can actually stop and frisk you in your building.

The third term across the river, it really was a bad bad idea.

Sounds like Johnny and Chris Christie are of one mind when it comes to Mayor Mike and Spy Chief Kelly in NYC

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie LAMBASTED NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg and his lap dog Police Commissioner Ray Kelly yesterday over the New York City PD's blatant spying on Muslim communities here in New Jersey. We'll just give you a few of Governor's Christie' more choice comments on NYC's spying:

Christie said he doesn’t know if the actions were "born out of arrogance, or out of paranoia, or out of both."

Neither New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg nor Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly has apologized for the department’s actions, further incensing leaders on this side of the Hudson River. "Well, because he’s Ray Kelly, what are you going to do," Christie said sarcastically. "He’s all knowing, all seeing."

"My concern, and I don’t know all the details yet, but my concern is, why can’t you be communicating with law enforcement here in New Jersey?" he asked. "Are we somehow not trustworthy?"

"I had federal jurisdiction, so we could go anywhere," he said of his U.S. attorney job. "This is the New York Police Department. I know they think their jurisdiction is the world. Their jurisdiction is New York City. My concern is this kind of obsession that the NYPD seems to have that they’re the masters of the universe."

Ya got that NYPD? Your jurisdiction ENDS here in the Garden State. Do not let us catch you here without warrants (you'll never get here) again.

This always seems to crank off a few people when proposed, it's already got Mayor Bloomberg all weak kneed, what do you think of this proposal? New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas A. Farley said he's looking to ban smoking in city parks and beaches, furthering the indoor workplace/restaurant ban put in place in 2002. Mayor Bloomberg, ever the hemming and hawing political animal and looking to not upset any potential voters took a wait and see approach to the proposal saying he wanted: “to see if smoking in parks has a negative impact on people’s health.” Hmmmm, well we know it'll harm the smoker's health anyway.

So what say you, would you be in support of furthering such a smoking ban?

Jersey City police pull a body out of the water near 2nd Street Pier this morning, NYC's Michael Bloomberg nowhere to be found yet

Jersey City emergency services pulled a floater out of the Hudson River this morning about 10:30 am. The medical examiner has made no determination as of yet. Absent from the scene is New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, 'Media Whore of the Hudson' who shows up at any and all events/tragedies/anything that might bring a camera/bake sales/ on either side of the Hudson. Apparently there is not enough news coverage yet to lure Bloomberg out of hiding and tell the cameras what's going on in Jersey City.
