We know you were trying to make a joke when you said about the American Irish Historical Society on 5th Avenue:
The mayor, who lives in the neighborhood, said that when he walked by the stone-and-brick building on St. Patrick’s Day, “there are a bunch of people that are totally inebriated hanging out the window, waving.”
“I know that’s a stereotype of the Irish,” he added to a smattering of groans and laughs, “but nevertheless we Jews from around the corner think it.”
Look, Mayor Mike, a joke should be FUNNY. That wasn't clever. Wanna know a clever Irish joke? What's green and has an IQ of 97? Answer -- A St. Patrick's Day Parade. See THAT is how it's done. Really, it's not that big of a deal nor that big of an insult.
HOWEVER
Since we think you'd be a great candidate to make sure this kind of anti-Irish sentiment doesn't take hold somewhere, you are hereby sentenced to work cleanup detail in Hoboken after their St. Patrick's Day celebrations come to an end sometime in April. Contact Dawn Zimmer, she's the mayor there. The one who doesn't take FBI kickback money.

With apologies to the theme song writer for The Brady Bunch -- Here's the story, of a three week mayor...
Who was grabbing up some healthy stacks of cash.
He was young, hip, had it all together
Until the police came...
Peter Cammarano, former three week mayor of Hoboken will plead guilty today at 12:30 in Federal Court in Newark for last year's graft arrest for taking $25K from faux developer and part time FBI informant Solomon Dwek. He is expected to garner himself 2 years in the clink for his actions.
$25K? See this is the difference between Jersey City and FuHo, the MAYOR of Hoboken can be bought for $25K while in Jersey City the DEPUTY MAYOR and some other city officials need $30K before they sell their mortal souls. Business is just better, and life costs more in Jersey City.
So for those scoring these graft cases at home our score is now FBI 100%, defendants ZERO.

You may have heard from the powers-that-be in Hoboken their St. Patrick's revelry was well contained this year--you heard WRONG
The reports from city officials in Hoboken last weekend was that everything surrounding their annual drink off aka the St. Patrick's Day parade was demure and well behaved. Think again. In fact, Hoboken broke last year's totals of summonses handed out for bad behavior. The Hoboken PD along with the Hudson County sheriff's office handed out some 555 summonses, only 5 short of the 2007 record of 560 and an increase from 476 in 2008. According to the Jersey Journal the numbers break out like this:
The city’s heightened zero tolerance policy this year raised the maximum fine amount to $2,000. The bulk of the violations came from open container (154), jaywalking (85), drinking in the street (77), disorderly house parties (51) and public urination (41). There were 25 arrests and 727 calls for service, according to the mayor's office.
For all the complaining the city powers-that-be in Hoboken complain about the cost and the other issues you do the math. $2000 tickets at the top end of the scale and other very expensive tickets multiplied by 555 makes this a pretty good cash cow for Hoboken.
"We hate the troubles that come with this parade and day in general........When do we get paid?"

Hoboken is going to try some radical thinking after last year's St. Patrick's Day debacle
Hoboken last year became the national poster child for too much green beer as many of you will recall. Johnny certainly got a lot of copy ink out of it. Now, in order to curtail the out of hand drunken mouth breathers (And good people of Hoboken we are not calling you mouthbreathers, just the drunken louts who ruin it for everyone. We have a mouthbreather of a mayor here in Jersey City, so we're even) the Mile Square City is going allow......... the bars to open four hours earlier.
We'll repeat that. The City of Hoboken will allow bars to open at 9 am instead of 1 pm last year. Johnny is loading up the Jersey City Desk Action News Truckasaurus on March 17th and we are gonna bring you every angle of the hot mess in Hoboken.
As a website that lives to comment on bad ideas, we endorse this plan with all our being.

The charge for pooping in someone's yard in Hoboken is "lewdness"
Just thought we'd clear that up. If you make a pile on somebody's lawn in the Mile Square City you'll be charged with 'lewdness'. Johnny had 'assault with a weapon of ass destruction' in the office pool, while intern Zoltron said 'Being a hideous person' and intern Kiki said it would be 'Littering'.
Oh, and you may be wondering how we know this. Yes, that part, here ya go....
