If you woke up this morning, and if you didn't we're sorry, you've no doubt noticed the low clouds hanging around. These are the predecessors of what is left of Hurricane Jose which will glance our coastline as Tropical Storm Jose, tomorrow afternoon, evening and into Wednesday morning. By late morning tomorrow however, it's going to get dicey outside.
Our area can expect some pretty good wind gusts into the 40 mph range and plenty of sideways, annoying as hell, slap you in the face rain. The majority of any coastal flooding (and Jersey City is primed for coastal flooding) will occur Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Long Island and southeast Connecticut won't be quite as lucky but sadly, Jersey City can't save everyone. They must rise and fall on their own.
If you have lawn furniture or playground equipment lying about you'll want to ring it inside but this shouldn't be some end of the world type wind and or flooding storm like Irene and Superstorm Sandy.

It'll be a pretty day at least
No, not this morning raw wind and cold shit, the snow. Around 11ish according to the Weatherometers at the Jersey City Desk Action Weather Team stations Jersey City and the surround will get about an half inch WHOA all the way up to an inch, (unless you're on Long Island and Connecticut or out there in Rhode Island (hey Rhode Island!) in which case it's been good to know ya.
So Jersey City you'll probably want to go raid those stores on lunch break to ride this whopper out.

Time for another "Thinker AND Doer" Award
Reynold Joseph has good enough taste in cars. Right before being shuttered by GM Pontiac was making great cars, the 2009 Vibe was nominated for Motor Trend's Car of the Year and the G8 was based on the Aussie Holden with the big blindingly fast motor and the car played to great reviews. One of the last 8 cylinder cars around.
Joseph's trouble was selling the car to a woman on Long Island.....then using a scheme to go steal it back so he could sell it again on Craigslist. Like we said, a thinker AND a doer.
Joseph sold the car to the Long Island woman via Craigslist and after she found out she had the wrong title (*cough cough* how did that happen?) he took it out to her address (what a guy!). Later that night she noticed her car was *GASP* stolen! She of course reported it stolen. Wile E.'s plan began to fall apart after he was pulled over in scenic Mahwah because the windows were tinted too dark. The first thing Mahwah Officer David Vega picked up on was Reynold was not allowed to drive in New Jersey or New York, license suspension issues and so forth. NJ.com tells us the rest:
Joseph claimed that he had just purchased the car after responding to a Craigslist ad, and produced a title to show he was the legal owner.
Vega was suspicious, however, and after running the Vehicle Identification Number through a national database, determined that the car had been reported stolen out of Nassau County, N.Y. Joseph was arrested, and a subsequent search of his vehicle found two "master keys" used to open Acura vehicles and Toyota Camry models.
What? Master keys what? That's crazy. They must have been left by ________________.
After he got the car home police say Joseph planned to re-list the same car on Craigslist and perhaps play a game of "Pontiac presents: lather, rinse, repeat." Joseph wins the Thinker and Doer Award because he might just have hit on phase two of how the South Park Underpants Gnomes can make money. Previously the plan consisted of:
Phase 1) Collect underpants
Phase 2)
Phase 3) Profit!
Joseph solves the riddle here by showing Phase 2 is actually selling the underpants back to the victims. If only he'd have used his considerable business acumen for good. Pity.

So come on out to Lindenhurst, the scuba diving has never been better!
It's like a postcard isn't it friends? Come on out to Lindenhurst and grab a brew and loiter as people scuba dive, like you do, in thigh deep water. We understand the kayak, those are always seen wherever reporter-on-the-scene-in-knee-deep-water stories rear their ugly heads. The scuba diver? Ewwwwwwww. Disgusting. What possible aquatic life are you looking at? The speckled big mouth gym sock?
So thrillseekers, grab a cab and get your fun loving self out to Lindenhurst now before the crowds get there!

OK, cold case crackers and crime stoppers, let's look at the Long Island cases -- UPDATED 7:39 PM
Without going into a long detailed rehash of the body dumping ground Jones Beach on Long Island has become Johnny wanted to ask you all for your thoughts and opinions.
Johnny loves working on cold cases and has been asked to assist on a couple in the past. Now we know police have found five bodies while searching for missing Jersey City resident Shannan Gilbert who hasn't been found. Gilbert had arranged a date with a man on Craigslist last year and hasn't been seen since possibly ducking into some tall grass to avoid being seen, possibly by police.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer has pretty much said police are looking for a serial killer and there is a Craigslist link so readers, what are your thoughts, your opinions or your clues?
UPDATE: Search teams found 3 more bodies today near where they found the others. They were wrapped in burlap bags. No word on if Jersey City's Shannan Gilbert was one of those found. This brings the total to 8 bodies found along that stretch of Jones Beach.
