Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA with SUPERTRAMP!

On a good old record player. Look at this guy's setup, what a boss, no kidding. That diamond needle is doing the job without pennies being placed on top of the stylus. You kids go ask your parents about that. Supertramp with 'Goodbye Stranger'

I LOVE this album! Breakfast in America is one of my all time favorites that I still play regularly today. It is actually the songs from Roger Hodgson, co-founder of the band, that I hold dear to my heart - the title track, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Child of Vision, and Lord is it Mine. Each of these is a treasure in its own right. Many people don't realize that although Roger and Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own respective songs.

I saw Roger in Atlantic City a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about that show. Without a doubt it was the best concert I have ever seen and I've seen just about everyone over the years. Roger's voice actually sounds better today than on my Supertramp vinyls and the intimacy of his show is unsurpassed. I saw on his Facebook page that there are still several dates in New England this year. I think a road trip is coming up for me. Check out Roger's tour details at http://www.facebook.com/RogerHodgsonOfficial.

Good ol' turntable. I remember when Breakfast in America first came out. The Logical Song really shaped my childhood, and Take the Long Way Home carried me through the rougher patches. Hey Lucy- I was at Roger's show in AC too! I was shocked at how much I felt his songs reverberating in my chest (and my mind too). I rushed home and bought tickets for Englewood and Morristown next month. The guy sounds note for note just like he did in '79. Just might be tempted enough to make the drive to Westbury in the NYC area...
