We saw this story yesterday and wanted to pass it along

It's like they are Sauron standing atop a wooden Barad Dur. They see all for miles. From their towers they can see from one end of the state to the other. They are New Jersey's best line of defense against forest fires, they are the guys who sit in the state's 21 fire towers constantly scanning the horizon for a slight wisp of smoke. The article is filled with cool facts and things you'd never imagine they would do. If you're math geek there is something for you too.

An amazing story of a very important job that we may just take for granted. When other states are cutting back and cutting out such protections altogether it is nice to see New Jersey being proactive.
