We're giving the staff the day off

They performed bravely during the hurricane coverage and now some of them must get home to pump out their own basements and go find relatives who were last seen on a blow up mattress in the Passaic River.

Johnny will be back tonight and the rest back and on guard tomorrow.

It's opening day for soccer in Europe and Johnny's all about that. He cannot be expected after the week he's had to actually put any thought or effort into the Jersey City Desk offices today. Besides the interns are having a rave there tonight and Kiki wanted us all out of the way to decorate.

Johnny may show up at Kiki's rave later tonight but not before he gets his eat on at Standard Grill.

Saturday open thread

Johnny isn't going anywhere near the office, public transportation or anywhere else today unless it rains and cools things off. He's sitting high above Jersey City today keeping an eye on things (and making sure the two feral cats in his neighborhood have water) and trying to stay cool.

Monday open thread

Johnny's been without air conditioning since last Thursday if you can believe it and right now that is being addressed (and not a minute too soon). Since the interns are at summer camp Johnny is attending to the repairman's every need so he won't be in the office much today.
