Jersey City, Newark and Paterson are creating a 'strategic partnership' over public safety

In Paterson that's just the way things go...

We were leading with that whether it fit or not. Johnny's been holding that one in for a story involving Jersey City and Paterson since he got here. Whewwwwwwwwwww *exhale*

Jersey City, Newark and the aforementioned Paterson, New Jersey's three largest cites, are joining forces on public safety in what they are calling a "strategic partnership" and it will be unfurled this afternoon here in Jersey City at 1 p.m. event at the Hub Shopping Center on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Mayors Steve Fulop, Newark's Ras Baraka and Paterson's Joey Torres will discuss:

"...shared services in tracking criminals that may travel from city to city, gang intelligence, police manpower, expansion of employment, prisoner re-entry programs, bank foreclosures and shared practices."

Three high-profile cases, one in each city it would seem have helped get this collaboration off the ground.

We wish them luck and hope this cooperation can lead to some positive policing everyone is happy with except actual criminals.
