Ward F Councilwoman Diane Coleman just isn't all that intelligent

Which probably means the entire Fulop ticket isn't all that intelligent. Whoa, hey, we were only kidding, just like Ward F Councilwoman Diane Coleman when she said that 'everyone' in her ward, Ward F, had a criminal record.

WOW. Again for emphasis, WOW. And you're running on Steve Fulop's ticket talking shit like that? You not only offended Viola Richardson who represented Ward F for over ten years before becoming an at-large Councilwoman but the entire ward. What are people waking up reading this story going to think? That you Diane have their best interests at heart when you write them ALL off as criminals?

Steve Fulop, what do YOU have to say? She's running on YOUR ticket. What are your thoughts on Ward F Steve? Do you agree with your candidate or do you reject her comments outright? Words we don't want to hear from your campaign are "misspoke", "taken out of context" or "misinterpreted".

Here is the back and forth between Coleman and Richardson:

Coleman’s joke came as the council discussed a federally funded jobs program up for approval at its meeting tomorrow. Keith Davis, who runs a jobs program that works with the city, told the council that applicants with a criminal history are prohibited from applying for the program.

“So that means everybody in Ward F,” Coleman said before laughing.

"No, it does not. No, it does not,” Richardson shot back as a handful of people in attendance groaned.

"I'm only kidding," Coleman responded.

"There's a whole lot of folks who do not have a record --" Richardson started to say, before Coleman interrupted, saying, "And they're probably already working or whatever."

Richardson replied, "No, there are a lot of people who are unemployed in Ward F who do not have a record."

Sorry, you weren't KIDDING. Kidding is supposed to make people laugh or be some kind of engaging joke. What you just did Kitten was to slap your entire Ward across the face. We're not sure which was more offensive, the comment they all have criminal records or when challenged RIGHTLY by Viola Richardson you cop to saying that the people who don't have records probably already have jobs. Whoa boy, thats just stupid. Diane do you read any kind of local news or national news to see what the job picture is like ESPECIALLY in urban areas? Do you keep up with current events? In your self proclaimed "13 years of service" have you paid no attention?

Diane Coleman ladies and gentlemen, and she wants your vote in May to keep representing the criminals in Ward F.

Remember last week when we said we were pleased with Ward C Councilwoman Nidia Lopez's independence from the mayor?

Well listen to this...

Steve Fulop will have Nidia Lopez as HIS Ward C candidate on his May ticket. This is big big news though many will say they saw it coming. WHY they saw it coming is the big news. Lopez who ran on Mayor Healy's ticket in 2009 and won has changed sides. Said Nidia:

“My decision to join Steve’s ticket was easy,” Lopez said in a statement from Fulop’s campaign. “He’s the only candidate who has forward-thinking plans to fight crime, improve schools, make government more accessible and ensure that Jersey City's growth benefits everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.”

How's that for intrigue Jersey City? It certainly gets Fulop's story and reputation out into the neighborhoods away from the waterfront into Journal Square where Healy said Fulop would run into trouble. This sure helps.

Wait, what? It's good but you want more? Well then, Councilwoman at large Viola Richardson said she is running on Mayor Healy's ticket this very day as his third at-large candidate. Said Viola:

“Just like Mayor Healy, I’m driven to always do what’s best for the residents of Jersey City and those who work here,” Richardson said in a statement from the Healy campaign. “And together, we’ll continue to work hard to make Jersey City a better place for all.”

Jersey City Council -- FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!

It's become like a schoolyard over at 280 Grove St. A couple City Council members, Nidia Lopez (formerly in Mayor Healy's back pocket when first elected now showing signs of independence) and Viola Richardson want to change how the President of the Jersey City Council is chosen and put Richardson in the catbird's seat. This has angered current President Peter Brennan (A useless crony of a city councilman if you ask us) who was elected for a four year stint in 2009, and Mayor Healy who has very few allies who will roll over for him anymore. No doubt Healy can see the writing on the wall with his comment directed towards Richardson and Lopez:

“premature . . . unjustified and illegal.” Healy then went into voting numbers from 2009 to state his case. Brennan took the high road in immediately trashing the Lopez idea and brought up her previous disturbing citizenship flap:

“Maybe she should go back to Florida, that’s a change maybe people might want” he said.

RAWR, the kitty claws are coming out aren't they? Should make for an interesting City Council meeting when this is brought up January 11th.

In our humble opinion ANYTHING That can take power away from Healy and Brennan, however ceremonial, should be undertaken immediately. This city needs smarter decisions than the ones being made because it would seem just about all the decisions made in Jersey City involve somebody's palm getting greased. Out with the old and in with the new.

And the winners are...

Leading the pack last night were Viola Richardson (who never met a tax payer funded job she didn't like) and Rolando R. Lavarro Jr., both are to be congratulated for their victories.

Now for the losers. Well, loser, singular. Mayor Healy (again).

Healy backed both of his two rubber stamp incumbents, Ray Velazquez (Whom Healy appointed) and Kalimah Ahmad. In a race that should be very telling to the mayor his candidates finished fourth and fifth. Times are changing mayor, People are mad and they know exactly who they are mad at. It's no longer crooks like Leona Beldini and Mariano Vega, it's YOU. You never answer to citizens. You never show up in public unless it's a parade or some grand opening event where you are surrounded by acolytes and police. You act as though you are above the people you represent. You have walled yourself off in your office and you now hide from the people whom you'll be asking for votes from.

We hope they respond to you in 2013 the way you have given them the back of your hand since election day 2009.
