So get out there and get skating!

The Charlie Heger Ice Skating Rink in Pershing Field in Jersey City opened yesterday offering Jersey City residents a chance to zip around the ice on skates and even take free lessons this weekend. The rink is located at Summit Avenue between Manhattan and Central Avenues and is open today for free. The hours for the rink going forward will be as follows:

The rink is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is one session on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. There are two sessions from 3:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Fridays.

There are three sessions on Saturdays, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There are two sessions on Sundays, from 12:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The skate fee for adults is $3 for residents, $5 for non-residents. For children under the age of 18, the price is $2 per session for residents, and $3 for a non-residents. Senior citizens will be $1 for residents, and $2 for non-residents.
