Technically only yellow Peeps are acceptable:
"Eateth not blue nor purple nor pink..." Luke 27:13
So the Peeps are on the shelves now, do not anger your Lord thy God, go make with the marshmallowy goodness!!

and if i remember correctly, alternate shapes are cautioned against and johnnie-come-lately peep eating at other holiday times; but the bunnies, I believe, are acceptable.
Obviously someone who read their Bible stories! And some people said they'd never come in handy. Pshaw!
