Jersey City Desk names Utah as National Champions of college football

Anybody else tired of being forcefed this utter crapola that the BCS decides the national champion? You don't have to ya know. The BCS is about ONE thing and ONE thing only, money. That's it. Propping up the big conferences with millions in ad revenue and big payouts. It's CRAP. Utah won all their games, they went undefeated. They played some pretty darned good teams. But, you see the BCS loses cred if a team from the smallish Mountain West Conference or WAC lays claim to the national championship. By losing cred they lose money and again, that's all this is about. We actually saw yesterday some schlub commissioner from the ACC assured himself the BCS was completely legal and not an anti-trust situation. Thanks there Mannix, thanks for helping perpetuates this sham on the American public.

What the BCS does is suck the life and fun out of college football.

Here now the FINAL Jersey City Desk football rankings

1) Utah
2) USC
3) Florida
4) Oklahoma
5) Boise State

End of discussion.

NO, end of discussion

its very confusing how the conferences were re-aligned. for example, take the Rose Bowl, Univ or Michigan USED to be able to compete and if they had a good season, would go to Pasadena. But since they were put into some new conference, if they win their season, they go to some other unknown bowl game.

Johnny is right, its almost like the the collegiate authority re-aligned for some reason. Money? What?? a winning team SHOULD be able to play for their conference title.

Well it's just part of the ridiculous alignment. The Rose Bowl USED to play with the BCS and then dropped it wisely BUT still allow the champion of the Big Ten or PAC 10 to SKIP the Rose Bowl if they are one of the two teams in this half-assed BCS championship game setup. make sense? Of course not, following the dollars rarely is....

I also think the BCS is heavily weighted against west coast teams and in favor of the SEC. Last year for instance, all year long the BCS released rankings which told which teams were up for BCS bowl games. Then, right at the end, they threw that formula out and JUMPED LSU into the title game.

So, what was the point of having BCS ranking all year long if the BCS itself is going to screw with them when it suits their own TV needs?
