Steve Fulop makes it official, he's challenging Healy in 2013

And he's announcing his bid now because in his words:

"“It is important that we start the process now, because the political organization in Jersey City has a tremendous advantage in infrastructure and fundraising, there’s a reason people refer to it as a machine.”

We can think of nobody better to contrast Mayor Healy's style with in a race for mayor. Fulop has not taken part in any of the shennanigans that Healy has, Fulop lacks the police record Healy has and Fulop also doesn't have several of his closest political allies either in or on their way to jail.
