No, it wasn't cash for clunkers but in a way it was. Bayonne is using a US Justice Department grant of $262,900 to buy 14 vehicle with plenty of miles that have seen better days for undercover work. Now, the Bayonne PD says they are not releasing the makes or models. Johnny KNOWS the makes and models but he'll keep quiet for now (The Bayonne PD can owe the Jersey City Desk one) unless these mystery clunkers are involved in some illegal cop activity or citizen beatings in which case that list gets published.
So crooks and nere-do-wells in Bayonne, keep your eyes peeled for those late model Fords and Toyotas and GM's and Nissans and Hondas, because some of those cars will have their eyes peeled on you.
