Brad Richards scored with 6.6 seconds to play to tie it and the Rangers won it a minute and a half into overtime and now lead their best of seven series 3 games to 2. Johnny leaned over to Mrs. Johnny when Washington's Joel Ward took a stupid yet possibly innocuous high sticking penalty, a four minute penalty, late in regulation and said here it comes - if the Rangers score they'll keep the powerplay in overtime. Exactly what happened. Marc Staal scored for the Blueshirts a minute and a half into overtime and presto the Rangers are out of jail and looking like they are headed for a conference final matchup with the Devils.
We think such a matchup for at shot at such a wonderful prize would be just what we need around here.
