A fashion show that actually matters

Let's face it, fashion is normally laughed at by regular folks. We see the runway shows in Milan or New York and snicker at the 'latest fashions'. The Newport Mall in Jersey City will be hosting a fashion show that everyone who can go to, should go to. On October 10th, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Newport Mall will hold a fashion show with fashions modeled by breast cancer survivors.

Women will be able to get free mammograms between the hours of 9 am to 4 pm, there will also be free blood pressure screening stations.

With all that seemingly divides us anymore, as politically the fabric of the nation tears further let's remember this, breast cancer doesn't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat. It doesn't care if you're rich or poor, black or white or orange. These are the kinds of events that should bring us together until we make enough progress until nobody's mother or sister or wife or daughter ever has to suffer from it again.

For more information, call the mall Shopping Line at (201) 626-2025.
