Nidia Lopez's attorney tries the old "trust us" defense

"But your honor, you simply have to trust us, we'd never intentionally do anything wrong. Trust us, just throw this silly case out."

In one of THE worst defense claims ever that Nidia Lopez and or Nidia Boehringer is indeed a resident, Lopez's attorney William Northgrave used the old "but she had more votes than the other candidates combined". Oh, and the reason she stayed registered to vote in Florida? Well she simply thought if she registered in New Jersey that it would cancel out the Florida registration. If only the fact she hadn't paid New Jersey taxes in three years and that she used a home in Florida listed as her primary residence since 1997 to get big tax breaks weren't such a sticky issue.

Mrs Lopez/Boehringer, step down, we don't want you as a councilperson, you're obviously trying to get over on Jersey City and the state of New Jersey by not paying taxes, just go. Head back down to Florida where you seem to want to be anyway.
