The waterfront walkway between Jersey City and Hoboken opened with no big celebration or ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday but opened nonetheless. The walkway runs from Jersey City's Newport area to Hoboken.
There are no border crossings just yet but we here in Jersey City will want to address this matter sooner rather than later. We'll want to be checking ID's of those Hoboken residents wanting to enter JC. You can't be too careful with these people. What starts out as a friendly waterside walkway could easily become the Ho Chi Minh Trail of stolen property from Jersey City being fenced in Hoboken.
It could happen.
