On this day in the year 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted obliterating Pompeii and Herculaneum, killing hundreds of thousands. It is said this was the loudest sound in the history of the planet, having been heard as far away as some South Pacific islands.
In honor of this moment that literally made the Earth shudder on it's axis, Jersey City Desk Theater presents a recreation.
