When you get ready to travel or try a new restaurant, do you use online reviews or comments to help choose?

You might wanna take a step back and do some of your own research apart from online critiques or reviews. Some pretty good reviews of hotels or restaurants go for as little as $5. So how do you know which ones might be bought and paid for and which ones might be honest reviews? Read this article in the NYT and be a smarter shopper.

Its pretty sad when educated people want to check out information online for a new restaurant and not have "real" reviews available. Money is pretty scare and its not out of the relm to see if its worth going to and not waste their hard earned cash. Society has sunk to a new low.

Good points all anonymous. Sadly no way for the average consumer to tell which are fakes or paid for reviews
