Jersey City Council approves a big Journal Square redevelopment plan
In a unanimous 8-0 vote, the Jersey City Council approved a major redevelopment plan for a 244 acre site in and around Journal Square. The centerpiece of the plan is a two tower development around the train station. The plan also includes a new light rail line, 10,000 new residential units and a couple parks. Sound good? Sure it does. However, no money has been put forward and none set aside. So feel free to put this new plan in the 'pie in the sky' category.
