The case of the really bad horrid awful smell has been solved! Residents are no doubt breathing better AND breathing a sigh of relief as the pungent odor that residents and walkers were smelling near Boulevard East and 43rd Street has been found and dealt with by a team of firefighters who had to rappel down an embankment to get to the source of the effervescent issue.
It was a dead chicken.
Yes, all that for a dead chicken in a bag. You'd think local cats and or raccoons would clean that kind of thing up but for that bothersome lack of opposable thumbs.
Carry on Weehawken, and remember, keep those chickens in your yard lest you contribute fowl to foul air.
