Yes Virginia, you can walk from the World Trade Center to Jersey City and not get your feet wet

Reymundo Rodriguez is either a very troubled man or a very adventurous soul. Rodriguez was at the the World Trade Center PATH station when he decided the train was just taking too damned long. There had been an accident in Hoboken earlier that day and though trains don't run directly from FuHo to the WTC Rodriguez thought he'd waited long enough.

Off he set on a spelunkers view of the PATH system. He didn't touch the third rail, he didn't get hit by a train. In fact, in all the reports Johnny has read not one PATH train operator mentioned seeing him in the tunnels. It wasn't until he got very close to the Exchange Place exit that a Port Authority contractor noticed him and asked him in essence what the hell he was doing. Rodriguez answered with a blank stare that none other than President Obama told him it would be OK to make the underground trip:

"(President Obama) told me it was safe to walk through the tunnel" he told the contractor. The contractor alerted police.

After Rodriguez emerged at Exchange Place he was arrested and in initial questioning told authorities he planted a bomb in the tunnel somewhere. What an asshole. Of course this meant the Joint Terrorism Task Force had to stop all train traffic and sweep the tunnels looking for a non-existent bomb.

Rodriguez was charged with criminal trespass and went for a mental evaluation and was released.
