We begin the fun with The Dramatics with their song 'What You See is What You Get'. This clip is taken from in and around the Watts section of Los Angeles in 1972. That was the year Stax Records put on a huge concert in commemoration of the seventh anniversary of the riots. Now, the Dramatics (originally known as The Dynamics) aren't from Los Angeles, nope they're from the hottest music cradle ever, Detroit. This song peaked at #9 on Billboard's Hot 100 back in 1971.
